Planning Your Garden

An attractive and well designed garden can bring an enormous amount of joy and pleasure. A well designed garden will add considerable value to your property as well as giving you a beautiful space that can be enjoyed all year round.  Below are a few tips when planning your garden, however, if you dont know where to start we offer a full consultation and design service.

The first issue to consider when planning your garden is a very simple one - what type of garden will you most enjoy? For those with a hectic and busy schedule, a low maintenance garden is the obvious choice. For those with more time on their hands a more intensive garden experience might be more appropriate. One way of deciding which type of garden will be right for you is to ask yourself how you like to enjoy your garden - if your idea of heaven is snatching a few precious moments to relax in the sunshine with a cool drink and good book the low maintenance option might be best for you.
Another issue to consider is the climate and amount of sun your garden enjoys - not all of us are blessed with a south facing garden! Your garden's local climate will influence and affect the variety of plants, flowers and shrubs that will thrive there. However, regardless of your local climate and locale we can choose the plants that will thrive in your garden.Likewise, different varities require differing amounts of care and attention. What is important, is that we chose varieties that will provide a varied display of colour and texture throughout the year.

Last, but not least, think about how you will use your garden. Decked areas can extend your living space outdoors while lawns and grassed areas are more suitable for children. Water can add a further dimension to your garden while discreet lighting will extend your garden's appeal still further. If there any other features that you would like to have, a winding path or gazebo for instance, include them within your initial garden consultation. Whatever your requirements we can help you to realise your vision.
